MAGIC CARPETS | BOOK

magic carpetLinda Chase, famous interior designer and author based in Conneticut and I met Dr. Walter B. Denny in Amherst for the last chapter of our "Opus Magnum" on oriental carpets. Dr. Denny is professor of art history at the University of Massachusetts and the only scholar to lecture on Oriental Carpet Studies at a "Western" University.
We expect to finish writing, editing and designing of "Magic Carpets" by the end of March 2007. The final decisions about the print run and the number of pages (600 or 1001) will be made within a couple of weeks.
In an imaginary exhibition, the book tries to bring together the most important oriental carpets in the world and the expert voices of the people who preserve them for the memory of mankind. We follow the traces of these carpets from Pazyrik in the Altai Mountains to Los Angeles, visiting 14 countries, numerous museums and private collections and meeting the most fascinating people who are willing to share their knowledge with us.
